What are you doing with your time?

UK News

With the extra time at home most of us now have due to social distancing, how are you and those you live with using your time?

Why not send us a photograph and a few words describing the things that are keeping you busy and distracted from COVID-19?

They will help and inspire others.

Email your suggestions

One member, Griselda Kerr, author of ‘The Apprehensive Gardener’ is making the best of her time and has explaining how in an item on the NGS website called “Now is the time to get busy in your garden..” – thanks to Caroline Foley for sending in the suggestion for this good read which includes some tips on dealing with your box.

Catherine + helper

The dog and I trying to sniff out box tree caterpillar in our garden in North London – none found so far thankfully.

As you can see, the box balls are trying to spring back to life so I’ll be feeding, spraying and keeping a general close eye on them.

West London

The Chairman has been out checking for caterpillars

Box Tree Caterpillars are waking up after their winter sleep, time to go out into the garden and rummage carefully through all that lovely new growth and look for eaten leaves or cob webbing.  If you find any, search around in the area and you will almost certainly spot the culprit, either squash it or drop it into some water with a drop of washing up liquid in it.

If you think there are more than just a couple of caterpillars, take a look at our All You Need To Know About Box Moth & Caterpillar page where you will find lots of helpful information on what to do.
