English Garden Eccentrics

Todd Longstaffe-Gowan

Todd Longstaffe-Gowan will delight us as he reveals some of the most obscure and eccentric English garden-makers.  These incredible characters created some of the most unconventional and personal gardens between the early-seventeenth and early-twentieth centuries. This highly entertaining talk gives a fascinating insight into some of the most obsessive gardeners of the past.  If you like gnomes and bizarre topiary you are in for a treat!

Todd is a landscape architect and author, with an international practice based in London. He is gardens adviser to The Historic Royal Palaces, lecturer at New York University (London), Trustee of the Chelsea Physic Garden, president of the London Gardens Trust, editor of The London Gardener and author of several books including The London Town Garden and The London Square.
