Good & Not So Good
Work Team: Andrew, Lena & Chris
It was booked to be another day of weeding, but when we arrived we were a little worried with some of what we saw. There was a lot of new strong green growth, but also some yellow/orange on some of the leaves of some of the plants. We’re hoping it is nothing serious, but we’re checking into it.
As far as the weeding was concerned that went well and we are seeing fewer nettles and brambles coming back, even with the Topbuxus feed that is meant for the benefit of the box rather than everything else that is trying to grow.
The Topbuxus Carpet is also reducing weed growth as well as stopping water evaporation, on top of it’s designed use of stopping splash from the ground when it rains.
Andrew also supplied a copy of the paperwork from Plant Heritage confirming the Committees view of our proposal for regaining National Collection status
“…a great example of collection succession and would like to encourage you to proceed to the application stage.”
Sophie Leguil, Plant Conservation Officer, Plant Heritage
We will now work on the application paperwork aiming to get it submitted in time for the next Committee meeting were applications are considered which is in September.
Next Time:
Apply the final Topbuxus Grow feed for this year & also spray Topbuxus Healthmix + no doubt some more weeding!
