TOPIARY and EBTS UK in the NEW YORKER
An article about topiary, featuring the EBTS, has been posted on the New Yorker online. Described as ‘the ultimate magazine’, the New Yorker is famous for its commentary on culture in all its manifestations. This year they spotted that topiary is trending and sent reporter Sophie Elmhirst, who is based in the UK, to talk to Elizabeth Hilliard, Editor of the EBTS magazine TOPIARIUS, and to Levens Hall gardener Chris Crowder. Sophie joined Elizabeth at the prizegiving of this year’s inaugural national topiary awards, organised and sponsored by Henchman whose ladders topiarists across Europe adore. Next year Henchman plan to allow gardeners from across Europe to enter the competition, good news for members of the EBTS in France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
