Cressy Hall in Country Life Magazine
Fantastic article and photos of the topiary at Cressy Hall in Country Life Magazine recently (March 2022 edition).
A wavy box hedge lines the drive and over 100 yew topiaries are laid out in the garden.
Though the designs, as you can see in the pictures in the article, are touching on traditional shapes there is an element of playfulness in them too.
Just note how extraordinarily thin the spirals are… and how many turns of a spiral the (now former) owner of Cressy Hall, Michael Hill, has managed to sculpt into his work – I count 24? – in one photo!
Wonderfully modern, fun update to a classic design.
