Setting Up A Box Moth Pheromone Trap
With the increase in problems caused by Box Moths & their caterpillars here is some hopefully helpful information on how to setup a pheromone trap. The traps catch the adult male moths and give a visible indication of that they are in and around your garden.
AGM @ The Royal Acadamy

Great gardens even in April showers
Time for the first EBTS UK garden visits of the year and the good old British weather brought us heavy April Showers! Still this didn’t stop us enjoying three gardens in Surrey.
Busy Planting Box in the Chilterns
The Chiltern Society eNews reports that at the end of March 42 volunteers planted around 2000 small trees made up mainly of box but also holly, juniper, whitebeam and field maple. The work is part of a long term project ‘to increase the continuity of Box woodland in the area close to Ellesborough Warren the largest box woodland in England at 12HA’.

EBTS was founded in September 1996, twenty years ago. We will be celebrating this important milestone by hosting an event on Saturday October 1st at Earlstone Manor, near Newbury in Berkshire.

The exhibition featured in the 2014 edition of Topiarius is taking place at Hampton Court between 28th April & 4th September this year. This is to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of Lancelot ‘ Capability’ Brown.
Plas Cadnant floods
In September 2013 EBTS visited, as part of it’s North Wales trip, Plas Cadnet the garden of EBTS member Anthony Tavernor. Sadly in late December the garden was hit by a deluge of rain water

EBTS goes to Tuscany
The late-summer trip was carefully designed to include some of the most beautiful gardens in Florence, all incorporating fine examples of box and topiary. As part of the trip EBTS also visited Romiti & Giusti near Lucca, a specialist nursery exporting topiary sculptures all over the world: here you could order any topiary form, from teacup to tennis player.

Hertfordshire Gardens Visit
A morning visit to Rustling End Cottage in Codicote, with a wealth of good planting and cushions of box, was followed by a special private visit to the gardens at Bride Hall, rarely open to the public, with topiary, a parterre and famous water features.
